Myranda Campanella Nominated for Graduate Fellowship

Myranda Campanella ’22 of College Station, TX, has been selected as the 2022 Texas A&M nominee for the national Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship competition. Each year, Phi Kappa Phi – the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines – awards fifty Fellowships of $8,500 each and two at $35,000 each to members entering the first year of graduate or professional study. Our most recent nominee, Chloe Todd ’21, was selected for the Marcus L. Urann Fellowship in 2021.

Myranda Campanella ’22, TAMU Nominee for 2022 Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Fellowship

Campanella received a $500 scholarship as the nominee from the local chapter. The national fellowship recipients will be announced in mid-June.

Myranda Campanella ’22 is a senior international studies major with minors in journalism and French. Campanella is a member of the University Honors Program, Honors in International Studies, and was selected as a Glasscock Summer Scholar, where she undertook a project under Dr. Dinah Hannaford and completed a thesis as an Undergraduate Research Scholar on the impacts of French colonialism on Algerian media censorship in the 21st century. She also served as a teaching assistant for an international affairs course and a support technician for Help Desk Central. Campanella was also heavily involved with The Battalion, starting as a news reporter in her sophomore year, becoming Assistant News Editor in the fall of her junior year, Managing Editor in the spring of her junior year, and serving as Editor-in-Chief her senior year. Campanella also completed media related internships with Global Invest her and The Borgen Project. Campanella’s awards include receiving the GEBA Undergraduate Scholarship, first place recognition by the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association for in -depth reporting, and being selected for Dean’s list. She is enrolling in the Global Communication Master’s program at George Washington University and has been selected to complete an internship with the U.S. Department of State.
